About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Housing Standards Team. Dorset is now one of the biggest local authorities in the country, in a beautiful part of Southwest England.

We are a new, up and coming unitary council, who has just celebrated its 5th birthday. We have achieved a lot in a short space of time, and we are looking for the right candidates to join us on the next stage of our journey.

The Housing Standards Team carry out a wide range of enforcement work, making sure that private homes are safe and fit to live in. The work is varied, challenging, and extremely rewarding, making a real difference to peoples lives and the homes they live in.

You’ll get the chance to work on a wide range of private sector housing topics; from HMO’s to housing inspections, empty homes to park homes in the East of Dorset as well as working with our award-winning delivery partner for disabled adaptations; The Dorset Accessible Homes Service.

No day will be the same and you’ll use a professional, organised approach to get results.

You will be customer focused, with a practical mind and enjoy working within a small team of people delivering a wide range of housing enforcement services. More information about the services we provide can be found on our website.
