About the role

Are you looking to be part of a dynamic and friendly team that is committed to providing exceptional support to children and families in Dorset?

What’s in it for you?

As a Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children in need. You'll be leading and working alongside a dedicated team that believes in open communication and collaboration. Whether you're at County Hall in Dorchester or working remotely from home, we foster a supportive work environment that values effective team meetings and seamless daily communication.

With supportive management and a dedicated team of colleagues at your side, you can always rely on the guidance and backup you need. Regular catch-up meetings will serve to celebrate your achievements and address any challenges head-on.

We take pride in our inclusive and diverse workforce. Our team openly supports and develops each other, going the extra mile to offer knowledge, time, and practical help. We celebrate individuality and promote a culture where everyone's unique contributions are recognised.

We strongly believe in fostering your personal and professional growth. Our comprehensive induction program will set you up for success, and ongoing training opportunities will keep you at the forefront of your field. You'll have the chance to shadow experienced colleagues, learn new tasks, and expand your skill set as part of your journey with us. Moreover, working in Business Support opens doors for career progression, as you collaborate with various areas across Children's Services and our wider stakeholders.

What you will be doing

This role is instrumental in driving our success. Your contributions will revolve around crucial tasks such as invoice processing, procurement management, and facilitating prompt payments, ensuring the accuracy of our financial records.

Within your responsibilities, you'll be engaged in essential activities like account reconciliations, collaborating seamlessly with various Children's Services departments to streamline payment processing, and delivering exceptional business support through administrative duties. Your expertise in data entry, correspondence management, and meticulous document control will be key to maintaining high standards.

At our core, we embrace the power of teamwork. Working closely with our talented colleagues in business support, you'll play a vital role in upholding consistency and efficiency across all operations. Handling phone calls and managing email correspondence with finesse, you'll effortlessly guide callers to the appropriate officers or teams.

About you

We are looking for highly organised individuals who thrive in a fast-paced work environment and consistently meet deadlines. Attention to detail is a must, and you should be comfortable working independently while also being an effective team player with a proactive "can do" attitude.

Proficiency in Microsoft packages, Teams, and service-specific systems such as Mosaic, Synergy, and Nexus is preferred. Training will be provided for service-based systems, but a strong working knowledge of IT, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is essential.

Our services prioritise excellent customer focus, and you will be expected to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including partner agencies, families, and professionals. Exceptional customer service skills are a key requirement for this role.

The working environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with occasional interruptions to address queries from operational managers and staff and telephone calls. Some teams may involve direct contact with children and families, which may occasionally involve sensitive or distressing content. Therefore, resilience and confidentiality are crucial attributes.

Currently, we operate in a hybrid work model with a combination of office and remote workdays.
