About the role

This is an exciting time to join our Family Help Team, where we place children and young people at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking to recruit four Family Workers to support families across the North Locality, including Blandford, Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Sturminster Newton, and Sherborne.

As a Family Worker, you will play a key role in the Families First Pathway transformation, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for families and create brighter futures for children and young people.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Working directly with families in their homes and within the community
  • Building positive relationships with children, young people, and their families
  • Assessing needs and risks, and developing outcome-focused plans
  • Delivering targeted support at both Early Help and Child in Need (CIN) levels
  • Working in partnership with other professionals to coordinate effective support
  • Empowering families to build resilience and achieve sustainable change

About You

We would love to hear from you if you are looking for a rewarding new opportunity and are passionate about making a difference.

You may already have experience working with children and families in areas such as:

  • Early Years
  • Education
  • Youth Work
  • Health or Community Services

However, this is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

We are particularly interested in individuals who:

  • Are committed to improving outcomes for children and families
  • Can build trusting relationships and communicate effectively
  • Are motivated, resilient, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Embrace a collaborative, multi-agency approach

What We Offer

  • Full training and development opportunities
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to be part of a transformational programme
  • A role where you can make a real difference every day

Qualifications

Please refer to the Job Specification for full details regarding required qualifications and experience.

Interested?

We would love to hear from you if you are ready to take the next step in your career and be part of our journey to improve the lives of children and families.
