About the role

We are looking to expand our pool of casual Invigilators to work within our examinations office and join our friendly team in the running of all public and internal examinations at the schools throughout the academic year. The post would be ideally suited to applicants who are highly organised, vigilant and reliable, have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to remain calm under pressure and the flexibility to be called in at short notice.

Duties include supervising pupils taking public and internal examinations, supervising ‘scheduling clash candidates’ between exam sittings, preparing exam rooms, distributing and collecting exam papers in accordance with relevant regulations. Experience of exam invigilating is desirable, however full training will be provided.

This is a casual contact and working hours will be negotiated for each exam period. The main exam periods are during November and January - June, and the work will be either whole or part day sessions, some of which may start before 8.00am and end after 3.30 pm.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Twynham School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
