About the role

The Recruitment and Attraction team supports the council with all their recruitment needs, and as a large organisation with many different services, (from Rangers, to Lawyers, to Social Workers), a large part of this is promoting who we are, what we do and what we offer as an employer.

A large part of this promotion is social media – to share a human, fun and consistent image of who we are. This is where we need you, to help us understand what works, what doesn’t and to create some content for us to share.

In return we can give you the experience of working in a local authority and an office environment. We have the great opportunity of working with teams across the whole council so you can get a really good idea what the council does and can offer. We can also support you in understanding what using social media and digital marketing is like in a work context.

During your one-week placement, you will have the opportunity to:

  • assist in managing our recruitment social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Instagram).
  • research new and emerging digital marketing approaches, consider their suitability, and suggest new ideas
  • plan and create content to be shared on our recruitment social media platforms
  • analysing our platforms to to evaluate the effectiveness of content, sharing any learning and suggesting improvements
