About the role

TEACHER OF ART

FULL OR PART-TIME 

Required from September 2025, Gillingham School in Dorset are looking for a dynamic full or part time teacher of Art to teach across the age and ability range KS3-A’ level.  Art is taught by an enthusiastic, experienced and effective team who embrace new challenges to build upon the department’s success and popularity with pupils across all of the age groups. Within the department, we teach the specialisms of Fine Art and Photography in excellent and well-resourced facilities. For this post applications are welcomed from all specialisms.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
