About the role

Housing Options is seeking a progressive and creative Team Leader to guide and mentor Housing Caseworkers. This role is fast-paced and challenging, with a core function of preventing homelessness. The successful candidate will deliver an agile and dynamic housing advice service to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.  This is a role that makes a meaningful difference to people's lives and you will be part of a highly successful and high profile team that is achieving great results for its clients.

What you can expect to be doing

  • Leadership: Guide and mentor Housing Caseworkers, utilizing extensive experience and knowledge of Part VII duties under the Housing Act 1996.
  • Client Services: Provide bespoke and creative solutions to human problems that are legally sound and consider the needs of individual households.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal partners and community organizations to enhance service delivery and resource availability.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that support homelessness prevention and intervention. Represent the Council at community meetings and events.

About you

  • Experience: Proven track record in leadership, with experience in housing, Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, and wider housing laws such as Landlord & Tenant Law.
  • Flexible: Be able to work under pressure, deal with challenging and sensitive matters in a calm and thoughtful manner and deal with competing demands.
  • Creative - no two solutions will ever be the same so we are looking for someone with professional curiosity and who can support their colleagues through difficult and complex cases, often with innovative solutions.
  • Case Management - be able to guide your staff in casework management and data recording for collection for MHCLG.
