Location: Corfe Mullen, Dorset
Salary: SCP7 £13.56ph to SCP8 £14.36ph, dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: Zero hour contract, including evenings and occasional weekends, with potential for permanent hours
Base: Corfe Mullen Town Council Office (Towers Way) & Lockyers Hub (Lockyers Middle School)
Responsible to: Lead Youth Worker
About the role
Corfe Mullen Youth Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Youth Worker to support the delivery and development of youth services across Corfe Mullen and the surrounding area. This role has a strong focus on detached youth work, which involves engaging with young people in parks, streets, and other informal settings. The aim is to build positive relationships, provide real-time support, and respond to the evolving needs of young people where they naturally gather. The post also involves supporting centre-based youth work, outreach programmes, and community initiatives. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the personal, social, and educational development of young people through informal, youth-led learning.
Key responsibilities
- deliver inclusive, engaging, and safe youth activities within the youth centre and local community
- build trusted relationships with young people to support their wellbeing and development
- undertake detached and outreach youth work in parks, streets, and other community spaces
- help deliver seasonal and community-based events, including summer programmes
- empower young people to shape services through active participation
- work collaboratively with team members, schools, local organisations, and external agencies
- promote safeguarding and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
