About the role

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

Full Time Permanent

ECT/Main Scale/UPS

April 2026 or sooner if possible

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Maths teacher who wishes to work within a successful, supportive faculty keen to implement innovative teaching ideas to further the success of Maths across the school. This job would suit an ECT or a more experienced teacher.

This is a fantastic time to join the Maths faculty at The Purbeck School. The faculty consistently posts superb results at both GCSE and A level. Maths is taught through a dynamic mastery-based curriculum, rigorously preparing students by developing mathematical skills and knowledge necessary for success across the key stages.

We are looking for a teacher who wants to work in a strong team, able to teach Maths across the key stages, within a caring and compassionate school, in a beautiful area of the country. We would welcome visits from any prospective candidates.

Further Information

Our school values the diversity of our workforce and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.

The Purbeck School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; this is a commitment which we expect all staff and volunteers to share. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Governments safer recruitment guidelines.

This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975, provides information about which convictions must be declared during job applications and related exceptions and further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide.

About Us

We are committed to developing each individual and therefore there will be access to CPD and opportunities to progress.

The Purbeck School is a wonderful place to work. The school prides itself on ensuring that students not only leave with an excellent set of qualifications, but also a set of values based around our core principles of ’kindness, aspiration and perseverance’.  In the last set of outcomes the school was placed in the top 10% for results at GCSE and A level across the country.

This is an exciting time to join the school as we have recently had an ‘exceptional’ Ofsted.
