About the role

ROLE: HLTA: whole school cover and interventions 

LOCATION: Bovington Academy

CONTRACT: Permanent Part time, term time only

HOURS: 35 hours per week

SALARY: Grade G, scale points 18 – 23, FTE (£30,559 - £33,366), Pro rata for part time (£24,392.87 - £26,633.48)

With its extensive grounds Bovington Academy is a primary school within a unique catchment area, including Bovington and the British Army garrison between Allenby and Stanley Barracks. We currently have 184 children on roll in 7 classes from Reception to Year 6, with 60% - 70% of those having a parent or carer in the services. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment, in which children from all backgrounds feel included and able to take part in enriching learning experiences. Bovington Academy is an inclusive, lively and exciting school; situated in the heart of the community within Bovington Garrison.  We have high expectations of both children and staff, and are currently looking for a dedicated HLTA to join the team.  


The HLTA will play a key role in our academy and will provide effective support for individual pupils and groups across the school. This role will report to the SENCO, and represents an exciting opportunity to have a meaningful impact on the lives of our pupils.

 

We are looking for an HLTA to work closely with the Attendance lead to provide tailored support for pupils who are at risk of losing valuable learning time due to their attendance. The role would also consist of cover across the school: some ad hoc to cover absenteeism while some planned to provide subject release time for staff. You will also support the school in developing and implementing whole school interventions.

Keeping Children Safe in Education


Bovington Academy will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
