What you will be doing
This essential role sits within the Operational Support Team who are responsible for supporting Dorset Highways within Dorset Council.
Your main purpose will be to provide administrative support to the operations team, Learning and Development Team and to have a main role in reception.
You will be responsible for letters and quotations to members of the public, correspondence with Highways stakeholders, ensuring emergency callouts are actioned within tight timelines and taking minutes in meetings. You will also be dealing with queries by both ‘phone and email and taking payments from members of the public. As part of the reception team you will be front facing for visitors within Charminster depot and will need the ability to turn your hand to every challenge.
Collaboration is key to the successful delivery of Dorset Highways and you will take responsibility for prioritising your work to meet tight deadlines
About You
We are looking for a team member with an attention to detail and an ability to prioritise who is driven to improve our service and committed to the highest standards. A robust team player, with a flexible approach, keen to support colleagues working in our friendly and busy team.
You will have excellent customer service standards as well as exceptional communication/computer skills. You will share our values, building good working relationships with colleagues across Dorset Highways and the Council.
Training will be provided, but we would like someone with skills which are transferable to this role, with a willingness to learn quickly with the support of your team colleagues.
The successful candidate will be able to travel to Charminster depot. This role will be based in reception and, as a frontline role, will be primarily office based.
