Join Dorset’s Adult Safeguarding Team – Self-Neglect Safeguarding Adults Practitioner
This is an exciting time to join Dorset’s Adult Safeguarding Team as we continue to enhance flexibility and develop specialist expertise within our service. We have an established role dedicated to the complex practice area of self-neglect.
As the Self-Neglect Safeguarding Adults Practitioner, you will:
- Act as the key point of contact for advice and guidance on self-neglect, including preventative strategies and, where appropriate, lead Section 42.2 enquiries.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-agency approach to ensure effective support that empowers individuals to make positive changes, achieve their identified outcomes and manage risk.
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Police, Care Quality Commission, health providers, Fire service and the voluntary sector.
- Consistently apply ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’ principles by working alongside the person throughout their safeguarding journey.
- Use a strengths-based approach to complete assessments, care and support planning and risk assessments.
