About the role

We are in an exciting position to be expanding our Student Support Team. We are delighted to be recruiting for an enthusiastic student services support worker to join our fantastic team at Twynham School, working 18.5hrs per week, term-time only. This role is focused on supporting young people with their mental health and welling. This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic team of people.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Support and promote the development and learning of the children with a variety of academic, physical, emotional, behavioural and social needs
  • To work with children outside of the classroom to boost their emotional literacy and mental health
  • Liaise with external agencies to ensure the right support for the children
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have five GCSEs at A-C, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications/grades)
  • Enjoy working with and can relate to children in and out of the classroom
  • Work with energy and enthusiasm

  • Are first aid trained (or are willing to undertake training with us upon appointment)

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Twynham School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
