About the role

You’ll join a supportive and friendly team committed to helping people across Dorset understand and manage the financial aspects of their care.

You’ll receive full training and ongoing support, gradually building expertise over 18 to 24 months in personal finance and the benefits system.

This is a rewarding role with real impact, offering variety, continued learning, and the chance to grow in independence as your confidence and knowledge develop.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll assess the financial circumstances of individuals who have eligible social care needs, helping determine how much they may need to contribute towards their care. This involves applying national guidance and local policy to real-life situations, supporting people and their families through sometimes complex financial decisions.

Your work helps ensure public funds are used appropriately while offering a clear, respectful service to those navigating adult social care.

About you
  • you’ll be highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage your own workload
  • you’ll need a logical mind, a good eye for detail, and the ability to apply rules consistently
  • a willingness to learn is essential, as you’ll encounter a wide range of financial scenarios that will deepen your knowledge over time
  • above all, you’ll bring patience, professionalism, and a supportive approach to every conversation.
