Casual Minibus Driver – West Moors Middle School
West Moors Middle School is excited to welcome a casual Minibus Driver to our team! This role involves transporting children to and from sports fixtures and occasional educational visits. All trips take place during term time. We aim to provide at least one week’s notice to allow you to check your availability, though there may be occasional requests at short notice.

Training and Requirements
- Training will be provided.

Drivers will complete an annual minibus assessment.

A valid PCV licence (category D1) is required.

A DBS check will be required.
Purpose and Impact

Safely convey passengers to and from their destinations, following route schedules, while considering passenger comfort and any disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the role, duties may include:

Observing all Health and Safety regulations and Local Authority procedures, including seat belt requirements, traffic laws, evacuation procedures, fire safety, and the correct use of tail-lifts, ramps, wheelchair restraints, and other equipment. Respond to emergencies in line with Directorate procedures.

Liaising with school staff regarding passenger incidents, occurrences, and any situations that may require a Risk Assessment.

Reporting vehicle issues or access problems to West Moors Middle School.

Conducting visual vehicle checks before each journey.

Maintaining vehicle log sheets and reporting any accidents verbally and in writing.

Performing any other relevant duties related to the specialised functions of the team.
Supervision and Management
The post holder will work under the direct supervision of their line manager.
Actual Salary £4,583 - £4,656 per annum (Grade 4, SCP 4-5).
This job is Term Time Only for 8.00 hours per week and 38 weeks per year.
The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
