We are looking for a positive individual interested in working part time as part of a small team belonging to Dorset Highways sharing our values and supporting our vision of ‘Moving Dorset Ahead’.
What you will be doing
This essential role sits within the Operational Support Team who are responsible for supporting Dorset Highways within Dorset Council.
Your main purpose will be to prioritising, scheduling and permitting works to a number of gangs across Dorset taking a holistic approach and in accordance with the Dorset Council Permit Scheme for Roads & Street works and other highway legislation.
You will efficiently package jobs directly to gangs whilst monitoring works status’ and dashboards and liaising with Operatives, Managers, Community Highways Officers, Engineers and Traffic Team.
Collaboration is key to the successful delivery of Dorset Highways works and you will take responsibility for planning works in your own area by helping support their successful delivery.

Exceptional communication skills are required for this role and you’ll share our values building good working relationships with colleagues across Dorset Highways and the Council.
Training will be provided, but we would like someone with skills which are transferable to this role, with a willingness to learn quickly with the support of your team colleagues.
The successful candidate will require a driving licence and be able to travel to Charminster depot, where the Operational Support Team is based as well as the depot covering their area of works in Dorset.
