About the role

St Mary’s CE Middle School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Science and Maths to join our wonderful team of staff.

The successful candidate will be able to adapt and deliver our science and maths curriculum to pupils across the school, demonstrating an in-depth knowledge across all learning areas.

About the role:

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Plan, develop and deliver high quality science and maths lessons using a variety of approaches to enhance teaching and learning
  •     The salary offered will be at main scale 1 to 6, depending on experience (negotiable for the right candidate)
  •     There will be the opportunity to develop subject leadership experience for the right candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the ability to teach science and maths across KS2 and KS3
  • Be an excellent teacher who is able to deliver a high standard of education to all pupils
  • Be an innovative thinker and have the passion to engender excitement about the curriculum
  • Have a good understanding of inclusive teaching and learning strategies to facilitate learning of all pupils, and especially those with SEND
  • Have excellent classroom management strategies
  • Have the ability to inspire and motivate learners
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Meet teaching standards

Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
