Damers First School is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Early Years teacher to play a key role in shaping our brand‑new, school‑based nursery, opening September 2026.

This exciting new provision will extend our current offer for children aged 4–9 and will be rooted in the strong ethos that defines Damers. The Role 

You will take on full teaching responsibility within the nursery, including planning, assessment, PPA time and all duties expected of a class teacher. Working closely with our EYFS Leader, you will help deliver an ambitious, curiosity‑driven curriculum that gives children an exceptional start to their learning journey. 

You will also play an important role in supporting and guiding the nursery team as the provision develops and grows. 

 

We Are Looking For Someone Who Can Demonstrate: 

  • A thorough understanding and experience of delivering the Early Years curriculum in a nursery setting 

  • creative, flexible approach to teaching with excellent interpersonal skills 

  • A strong commitment to inclusion, equality and diversity 

  • The ability to create inviting, high‑quality learning environments, both indoors and outdoors 

  • Able to build positive, collaborative relationships with parents, colleagues, visitors and external professionals 

  • The ability to lead, guide and support staff within the nursery, with mentoring from the EYFS Leader 

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, with the confidence to act appropriately on concerns 

  • A positive contribution to the school’s culture, ethos and wider community 

  • Responsibility for personal health and safety and the proactive reporting of concerns
