We are looking for a teaching assistant who has an enthusiastic and positive approach to supporting pupils to enable them to reach their full learning potential at school. The role will involve supporting children with special educational needs as whole class support and, at times, on a 1:1 basis. Previous experience is desirable although training and support will be given.
Our staff are passionate about teaching and supporting learning at Cranborne Middle School and we work well as a team to plan lessons that engage and challenge our hardworking and well-behaved pupils. We are a happy and successful 9-13 middle school and enjoy an excellent reputation in the local community.
The position is for 31.67 hours per week commencing 1st September 2026.
The successful candidate will:
• hold a GCSE or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy
• have experience of working/volunteering with young people
• have good oral communication skills
• have good organisational skills, including record keeping
• be patient, disciplined and flexible
• be able to work as part of a highly successful team
• have ability to take instruction and use initiative
• demonstrate high standards of professionalism
• be fully committed to his or her own professional development
• demonstrate commitment, drive and enthusiasm
• be committed to safeguarding children and promoting their welfare
