About the role

Burton Primary School  is looking for a School Kitchen Assistant to join our lunchtime team.
This role is Part Time - Term Time Only for 15 hours per week and 38 weeks per year.
It is offered on a Permanent basis.
Approximate start date 1st June 2026
We are looking for someone who can manage the preparation and delivery of an on-site hot school meal provision using external catering suppliers.
All food preparation and service will be conducted in accordance with food handling and preparation regulations, ensuring safe and proper use of the kitchen/catering equipment and materials provided, and strict adherence to allergen management.
Closing date: 19th May 2026
Interview Date: 20th May or 21st May
Hours of work are 11.45am until 1.45pm 5 days per week, which may be subject to change according to business need

Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
