About the role

Salary - £17,024 - £17,294 Actual Salary (pro rated) Pay Award Pending

Are you a qualified TA with experience of teaching and supporting key stages 1 and/or 2 including those with Special Education Needs?

Do you have a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and experience of teaching pupils with ASC, NLD, ADHD, SEMH and other complex needs?

We are looking for a resourceful and energetic SEMH SEN TA to support children in Key Stages 1 and 2 across the curriculum in our new Specialist Resourced Provision.

You should be self-motivated with a creative approach to supporting teaching and learning.  All support roles require individuals to have the skills to continuously improve the learning experience for our pupils.  You should have experience of working with pupils with SEMH and other complex needs and understand what approaches work well and how building positive relationships are key.

A passion for inclusion and teaching and supporting pupils with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) challenges is essential.

These SEN Support Staff positions have been created to support the growth of the school and the needs of our pupils; it is a great opportunity to be part of a team providing the very best possible educational opportunities for our pupils within a nurturing and supportive setting.

The amendments to the ROA 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975, (2013 and 2020)) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’, so they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account. The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975, provides information about which convictions must be declared during job applications and related exceptions and further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

Wyke Regis Infant & Nursery School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children.
