About the role

The Inclusion Team is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in our Communication & Interaction Specialist Resource Provision and within the classroom. You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who find learning and communicating a challenge in both the classroom and during intervention sessions. Our SRP is a provision which supports 14 students who are fully integrated into our mainstream school alongside their peers.  These students are offered additional resources, interventions, and at times, different spaces to work in order to help them to succeed in our school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive SEN experience.

  • Has experience with non-verbal students, is knowledgeable and has experience in supporting children with complex needs.

  • Is confident to work with students with autism and associated difficulties.

  • Is enthusiastic and dedicated, with a passion for working with pupils who require additional support with their education.

  • Has experience in engaging with students who demonstrate behaviour, communication and interaction needs.

  • Has a strong background in English and Maths.

(Experience of supporting students with SEND would be desirable but not essential)

The role involves aiding the teacher to deliver the curriculum. You will help children and young people to understand and access activities and overcome barriers to learning. You will work with students, staff and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our students who have special educational needs and/or disabilities. You will play a key role in the school as we strive to further develop inclusion. Please note this role is subject to funding and may be extended beyond 2026-27.
