About the role


Examinations Manager with Exam Data Responsibility

Contracted Hours:

Full-time - 37 hours per week. Annual leave to be taken during the school holidays.

Grade 9. £32,061 with possible increments to £36,363. Requests for reduced working over the school holidays will be considered, but this would come with a pro-rata adjustment.

The Thomas Hardye School is seeking to appoint a highly organised Examinations Manager to take the lead in ensuring the provision of a compliant and robust examination process at both Key Stages 4 and 5. The successful applicant will problem solve, follow all school policies and procedures, and manage a small team without direct supervision. They will manage and maintain the accuracy, integrity, and security of examination data throughout the examination cycle.

You will have excellent ICT skills, and be a highly competent and effective communicator. The postholder will be responsible for the collection, processing, analysis, and distribution of examination-related information, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations, school policies, and data protection legislation. This will include providing accurate examination data and reports to senior leadership, teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies as required.

The postholder will supervise and line manage other examination officers, as well as a large team of casual exam invigilators.

We require someone with:

  • experience of working in a school in line with examination processes.
  • attention to detail and a proven track record of accurate data entry.
  • working knowledge of examination administrative requirements of external bodies.
  • good understanding of data protection requirements.
  • a dedication to, and thorough understanding of the processes involved in safeguarding children and young people.
  • a commitment to inclusion and diversity.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements. The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
