Capital Delivery Technical Officer

We're looking for a Capital Delivery Technical Officer to join Assets & Property, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of capital and construction projects across Dorset Council's estate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in projects that help shape the places where our communities live, work and thrive.  

You will provide vital technical support to the Capital Delivery Team, helping to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, effectively and in line with agreed objectives. You'll coordinate meetings and workshops, maintain project documentation and programme information, support financial monitoring, and help track progress, risks and performance across a range of projects.  

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the delivery of capital and construction projects from inception through to completion. 
• Maintaining project plans, risk registers, action logs and programme information. 
• Organising project meetings, preparing agendas and recording key decisions and actions. 
• Assisting with budget monitoring, financial forecasting and project reporting. 
• Supporting contract administration and performance monitoring activities. 
• Working closely with colleagues, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to keep projects moving forward. 
• Maintaining accurate records across property and project management systems.  

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Is organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing priorities. 
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team. 
• Is motivated, adaptable and able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards. 
• Has strong technical support skills, ideally within a project, construction, property or asset management environment. 
• Is confident using digital systems and producing reports and project information.
