About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Customer Service Officer to join our team at Purbeck Sports Centre.

The successful candidate will become part of a small, dedicated team, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Centre. We recognise that every role makes a difference and that our employees are key to our success.

What will you be doing

We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused team player to join our reception team.

As the first point of contact for customers, you will need to be confident, approachable and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling customer enquiries in person, by telephone and online regarding the Centre, its facilities, activities and events.
  • Taking bookings and processing payments using our point-of-sale system, including cash and card transactions.
  • Supporting general administrative tasks, including record keeping, maintaining information displays and managing bookings.
  • Providing a welcoming and professional experience for all visitors to the Centre.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Good IT skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to use their own initiative.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer care.

About You

Flexibility and reliability are essential for this role. The position includes Tuesday evening shifts, some weekends, and additional day during school holidays. This is a part time role that averages over the year at 12.75 hours per week.

The shift pattern is set annually, meaning you will know your working schedule from January through to December.

What’s in it for you

As part of our team, you'll have access to a range of employee benefits, opportunities for training and development, and the support you need to grow and progress in your career.

We are committed to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation. We believe that individuals with different skills, perspectives and backgrounds strengthen both our workforce and our communities. We welcome applications from everyone and are proud to be a Disability Confident Employer.

We are committed to making our recruitment process accessible. Please let us know in your application if you require any reasonable adjustments.
