Budmouth Academy is a large 11-18 academy in a beautiful part of the country and is a member of the Aspirations Academies Trust.
We are seeking a qualified teacher (any subject specialism considered) who is passionate about inclusive education to join the Inclusion team for the next step in their career as Deputy SENDCo. We are looking for someone who is committed to helping every student reach their full potential and who has the knowledge and skills to be able to make a real difference.
Working closely with, and supported by, the SENDCo and Assistant Principal (Inclusion), you will help embed a culture where every student feels valued and able to succeed. You will collaborate with Heads of School, teachers, Teaching Assistants (TAs), parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure students receive the tailored support they need to thrive.
The Deputy SENDCo will play a pivotal role in driving genuine inclusion across the academy by embedding inclusive practices, upskilling staff through continuous professional development, and collaborating strategically with Heads of Schools. Key responsibilities include creating and monitoring high-quality student-centred documentation such as Pupil Passports, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and Part-Time Education Plans, as well as managing statutory paperwork and coordinating with external multi-agency teams. Candidates for the role should possess relevant SEND qualifications (or be committed to working towards the full qualification), a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, and a strong commitment to advocating for child-centred support.
