You will be joining the Recruitment & Attraction team, focusing on our digital marketing and social media presence as an employer.
We are recruiting for two Recruitment Marketing Consultant roles, each with a different focus but working closely together as part of one team.
One role will focus on Social Media & Employer Brand, using digital marketing, content creation and creative campaigns to tell our story, engage audiences and promote the opportunities available at Dorset Council through the WorkForDorset channels.
The other role will focus on Talent Attraction & Candidate Experience, supporting our recruitment approach, improving the candidate journey and helping us understand how we can attract the skills and talent we need now and in the future.
Both roles will give you the opportunity to evidence the impact that creative, brave and targeted approaches can have on recruitment and talent pipelining. You’ll help demonstrate our value as a team and how we can make a difference to the council by helping provide the right talent to support and run services.
You’ll be given the autonomy to develop ideas, plan and deliver activity, while working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders. Opportunities for development will be provided, allowing you to learn, share skills and ideas, and collaborate to create new and exciting approaches.
These roles will put you in a position to drive our commitment to a diverse workforce and the delivery of an inclusive recruitment process. You’ll also have the opportunity to support the council’s commitment to our climate and ecological priorities, identifying how these can be promoted and lived as part of our recruitment approach.
What you can expect to be doing:
You will:
- use your knowledge of digital marketing and/or recruitment to support activity that attracts, engages and connects with target audiences
- for the Social Media & Employer Brand role, coordinate a forward plan of content, tailor activity to different audiences, schedule and optimise content, and use paid promotion where required to increase reach
- for the Talent Attraction & Candidate Experience role, support recruitment campaigns, identify improvements to the candidate journey and use insight to help us attract and retain talent
- have the opportunity to identify new tools, partnerships and approaches, from creating relationships with external organisations to supporting events and campaigns
- use technology and emerging digital approaches to support an efficient and effective recruitment process
- keep up-to-date with trends and changes in the industry to ensure that our approaches remain relevant and make the most of the tools available to us
- evidence our success, savings, learning and identify where we can improve through data collection, reporting, case studies and feedback.
As a small team, you can expect to support with a variety of activity including filming, whether that is on camera, phone or drone, creating graphics, copywriting, campaign planning and supporting recruitment activity. You’ll be supported, trained and offered development where needed in all these areas.
We cannot promote the organisation without our employees, so part of your role will be to promote and advocate for our work internally, including building relationships and supporting employees to share their stories.
About you:
You will be confident using digital marketing tools and/or have an interest in recruitment and candidate experience, adapting your approach to suit different audiences.
You will be brave enough to try new approaches, willing to learn from responses and use insight to adapt and improve, sharing your learning with the team.
You don’t need experience in every area. We’re looking for people who can bring their own skills, experience and passion, while being adaptable and willing to develop across the team.
For the Social Media & Employer Brand role, you may come from a digital marketing, content or communications background.
For the Talent Attraction & Candidate Experience role, you may come from a recruitment, HR, customer experience or service improvement background.
What matters most is your curiosity, creativity and desire to help people discover opportunities where they can make a difference.
