About the role

We’re looking for an experienced HR professional to step into this key role, supporting the delivery of Dorset Council’s “Our Future Council” transformation programme.

This is a hands-on opportunity at the heart of organisational change, requiring someone who can hit the ground running with strong change management experience and a practical, people-focused approach.

Why join us:
  • be part of a supportive and experienced HR team
  • work directly on a major council-wide transformation programme
  • access flexible working and ongoing development opportunities
  • make a real impact on how we shape the future of our organisation

As HR Change Lead, your focus will be on leading and delivering people-related change that supports organisational transformation.

You’ll:

  • support senior leaders and HR Business Partners with strategic and operational advice
  • work collaboratively with colleagues in OD, Digital and Change to deliver joined-up solutions
  • guide managers through change processes and ensure good governance throughout
  • support engagement and constructive dialogue with recognised Trade Unions
  • contribute to the development of the wider HR team as part of the Centre of Excellence

What we’re looking for:

We need someone who brings clarity, calm, and confidence to complex change.

You’ll have:

  • a CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
  • up-to-date knowledge of employment law and change management best practice
  • experience leading on complex employee relations and organisational change
  • strong judgement and the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • a collaborative, adaptable mindset and the ability to work at pace

Our Future Council

Join us as we transform how we work and serve Dorset. As part of the Our Future Council programme, this role plays a key part in shaping:

  • a more sustainable,
  • efficient,
  • and people-focused council.

We’re investing in:

  • better ways of working,
  • modern technology,
  • and a more joined-up approach to meet the changing needs of our residents.

This role is key to shaping our direction and driving change across the council. You will contribute to how we plan, prioritise and support colleagues, with a focus on collaboration, technology and insight. If you enjoy seeing the bigger picture and helping others succeed, this is a brilliant opportunity to influence how we deliver for Dorset.
