About the role

Actual Salary £12,349 - £12,950 per annum (Grade 6, SCP 6-9) pay award pending.

This job is Term Time Only for 21 hours per week and 39 weeks per year Fixed Term to cover Maternity Leave.

Greenford Primary School is a small, friendly, and inclusive primary school where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential - and we are looking for an enthusiastic Administrative Officer to join our dedicated team.

You will play a key part in the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. As the first point of contact for parents, visitors and pupils, your friendly and professional manner will help create a positive and supportive environment for all.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Greeting visitors, parents, and pupils in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Managing phone calls, emails, post and general school correspondence
  • Supporting pupil attendance processes and maintaining accurate records
  • Assisting with school communications, newsletters, and notices
  • Handling basic financial tasks such as ordering supplies
  • Providing general administrative support to the Headteacher and staff

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong organisational and communication skills
  • Is friendly, patient and professional under pressure
  • Has good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and basic data entry
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • Ideally has experience working in a school or educational setting (though this is not essential)

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.

This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education

Greenford Primary School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
