About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Children’s Service’s Workforce Development team, the team are at the forefront in embedding the vision and values of the service and supporting the delivery of better outcomes for children and families. This role focuses on quality assuring the training programme for youth workers working within the voluntary sector and the Council to ensure we have a skilled and confident workforce working with young people across Dorset.  We are looking for a confident, pro-active individual who wants to be a part of a team committed to providing a high-level workforce development service. It’s a small team, therefore the ability to work independently but also be an effective team member is essential.

What you will be doing

If you are interested in this post you will need to demonstrate that you can work closely with colleagues in the Youth Work Training Team to quality assure the delivery of the Youth work qualification and youth worker training programme.

This will involve taking responsibility for undertaking the internal quality assurance of the Level 2 and Level 3 Youth Work qualification to ensure that they meet the standards required by the Awarding Body.

About you

Qualifications/Experience

• JNC Professional qualification in Youth Work

• Professional Assessor qualification e.g. A1

• Internal Quality Assurance qualification e.g. D33/V1

• Experience in working in a youth work setting or working with young people

• Experience of working with adult learners

Skills, abilities & knowledge

• Knowledge of youth work principles and practice

• Knowledge and understanding of policy, legislation and developments relevant to youth work

• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and procedures

• Knowledge of planning and delivering training

• Knowledge of assessing portfolio evidence against required standard

• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Further Information

This post is zero hours - hours worked are determined by the Training and Development Youth Worker.  The training programme is currently delivered on  Saturday’s and there is an expectation that the IQA will occasionally attend to carry out their duties therefore candidates need to be available for occasional Saturday working.  These workshops are delivered in person and therefore,  you will need to be able to fulfil these travel requirements.
