About the role

Role: Level 2 Teaching Assistant

School: Hamworthy Primary Federation: Hamworthy Park Junior School

Hours: 30.83 hours per week. Term time only (38 working weeks). Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:05pm

Salary: Grade D5 to 6 (£25,583 to £25,989 FTE). Actual salary (£17,824.40 to £18,107.27). Based on under 5 years’ continuous service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join our experienced, motivated and caring team at our Federation, which is part of the Hamwic Education Trust (HET).

We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work alongside our teachers, supporting pupils within a year team at our Federation. The role would initially be placed at the Junior School.

Job/person summary:

The successful candidate would work within a year team, under the direction of the teaching team and year leader. The role would include supporting pupils with their learning, as well as their emotional wellbeing and social development. Our Teaching Assistants support pupils in lessons, to enable them to access learning and develop as independent learners, as well as carrying out duties at play and lunch time, to ensure pupils are well supported at social times of the day. Our teaching assistants are highly valued and make a positive impact on all of our pupils.

We are seeking a professional individual who:
 
  • can work under the direction of the teaching team and senior leadership team, to contribute effectively to the teaching offer within the school
  • has experience of working with children within a school setting
  • can demonstrate knowledge of effective approaches to support pupils learning
  • can demonstrate good behaviour management techniques
  • can support pupils at social times and interact and intervene at playtimes where appropriate
  • is a flexible and supportive team player
  • shares our school culture of ‘every child, every day, every possibility’
  • can demonstrate a positive attitude and promote the ethos and values of the Federation
