About the role

You’ll join the newly formed Transformation Management Office at a pivotal point, supporting the council’s biggest change and improvement programmes.

This is a varied, visible role where your work directly supports better services for residents and a more effective organisation for colleagues.

You’ll gain exposure to senior leaders, complex programmes and modern ways of working, with the opportunity to build strong project and transformation experience in a fast-moving environment. The role is hybrid, with flexibility built around service needs.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the day-to-day operation of the Transformation Management Office, working closely with Delivery Leads, project managers and programme teams. This includes preparing reports, papers, agendas and action logs for boards and governance meetings, organising and supporting meetings and workshops, and making sure actions are tracked and followed through.

You’ll manage and maintain programme information and data, support reporting and dashboards, help coordinate budgets, contracts and key documentation, and contribute to the smooth running and continuous improvement of the service.

About you

  • you’ll have experience supporting projects or programmes in a complex organisation and a working understanding of project management approaches, gained through qualification or on the job
  • you’ll be confident dealing with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior colleagues, and comfortable working with data, reports and digital tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint and Excel
  • you’ll be organised, proactive and adaptable, able to juggle changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through
  • you’ll demonstrate Dorset Council’s values of respect, together, accountability, openness and curiosity in how you work.

Further Information

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Rick Perry via e-mail [email protected]

As part of your application within the supporting statement section, please express a preference for working in Place, Adults, or Central, which will be considered during shortlisting and allocation.
