About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Governance Professional to provide strategic leadership and oversight of governance across the Partnership. Working closely with the Trust Board, Chair and Central Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure governance at all levels is effective, compliant and continuously improving. 
The role is offered on an annualised hours basis, averaging 15 hours per week during term time. Working patterns will vary across the year and will include attendance at some evening meetings (typically once per half term), with flexibility outside peak governance periods.  This is a great flexible opportunity in which the post-holder will have opportunity to sufficiently manage their own working pattern.
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality professional governance advice to the Trust Board and its committees
  • Support and improve governance structures, board effectiveness and recruitment and induction of governors
  • Estrong compliance, including statutory reporting
  • Oversee information flow and effective use of governance systems and technology
  • AttendTrust Board and Member meetings and ensure effective minutes and follow-up of actions
  • Strengthen local governance and ensure consistent, effective governance arrangements across the Trust

You will be an experienced governance or clerking professional with strong knowledge of academy trust and charity governance. You will bring excellent organisational and communication skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to advise senior leaders and trustees.
