Somerford Primary School (Christchurch, BH23) is excited to be opening a resourced provision for children with an Autistic profile and associated Social Communication needs. This is an opportunity to help implement and develop our inclusive vision to further support children within our community. In order to do so, we are seeking two enthusiastic, experienced and skilled teachers to join our team.
The role:
- Teach and lead a class of up to 8 pupils, supported by up to two teaching assistants per class
- Deliver a creative, adaptive curriculum and therapeutic strategies to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing
- Link with class teachers in the main school to help children attending the provision access their link mainstream class up to 50% of the time
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, designing individualised learning plans
- Work closely with the SENCo, therapists, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every child
- Mentor and line-manage TAs, supporting their ongoing development
- Play a key part in shaping the new provision, including its routines, resources, and systems
- Engage with parents and carers to build strong, supportive relationships
