About the role

Queen’s Park Infant Academy has a unique opportunity for a colleague to become a SEND Teaching Assistant in our Puffins SEN base. We are seeking to recruit an excellent TA who will have experience in supporting pupils with special needs within a bespoke provision within a mainstream setting. The successful candidate must have excellent observation and communication skills.

This role will be based within our bespoke provision within the mainstream school. The provision provides education to 7-8 infant-aged pupils with complex needs (including: Autism diagnosis, communication language needs and global delay). The provision will be part of the mainstream schools and, where appropriate, children will join the main school for learning and activities.

It’s incredibly important at Queen’s Park Infant Academy that all staff feel valued, listened to, mentored, challenged, and given adequate opportunities to develop. As part of Coastal Learning Partnership, there will be opportunities for professional development to staff in all roles.

Please apply if you have:

  • Experience working with EYFS and/or KS1 school aged children with SEN needs (including Autism, global delay, and communication language difficulties)
  • High levels of energy, positivity, motivation, and resilience
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and liaising with parents/carers and other professionals
  • The ability to adapt and use your initiative to enable the pupils you are working with to thrive
  • The ability to lead small groups and 1:1 interventions
  • A commitment and passion to supporting pupils with SEND to thrive within a provision to achieve their full potential
  • The ability to see every child as unique and build positive relationships
  • A strong understanding of children’s emotional presentation and how to meet their emotional needs
  • Aspirations to achieve excellence in all you do
  • Commitment to continued professional development and are willing to make a positive contribution to our whole school

In return for your commitment, we can offer an environment in which you are encouraged to learn and progress, whether this be through professional qualifications or an ongoing programme of CPD. Our group of very different schools provides a range of opportunities for secondment and progression for staff throughout the academic year.

Closing Date: Sunday 17th May 2026

Interviews: Interview Date TBC

Coastal Learning Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they meet the essential elements of the person specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including a health check, and Enhanced DBS check, Child Barred List check and satisfactory references. We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern. Applicants are advised that it is an offense to apply for the role if they are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

CLP is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All applicants who meet the person specification will receive equal consideration for employment.  We value the fact that our schools are very different, as are our colleagues within them.  Our culture is one in which colleagues serve and inspire each other in the spirit of professional generosity; colleagues are empowered to be themselves and to be their best.  At CLP, everyone is welcome and encouraged to achieve and be heard.
