About the role

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve independence and thrive in adulthood?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Advisor to join our Care Leavers service in Dorset. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people aged 16–25 as they transition from care to independent living.

As a Personal Advisor, you will:

  • build trusting, supportive relationships with care leavers
  • provide practical and emotional support to help young people develop independence skills
  • develop and review Pathway Plans tailored to individual needs and aspirations
  • work in partnership with internal teams and external agencies (housing, education, health, employment services)
  • support young people to access education, training, employment and safe accommodation
  • advocate for young people to ensure their voices are heard

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience working with young people
  • understands the challenges faced by care leavers
  • has strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • is organised, resilient and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • is committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people

We offer a supportive and experienced team environment, regular supervision and professional development opportunities and flexible working arrangements.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and outcomes for care experienced young people in Dorset. We are motivated to empower young people and enable them to build brighter futures.
