About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commissioning and Partnerships Team within Childrens Services. 

We are looking for an individual who is interested in developing a career in commissioning and procurement and who wishes to help improve the wellbeing and life chances of children and young people through effective contracting with service providers.

This role is in the brokerage team which is responsible for:

  •  finding and securing new homes for children and young people
  • sourcing educational placements and/or packages of short term education for children who can not be educated in a mainstream setting
  • co-ordinating all laboratory testing, such as drug and alcohol and DNA testing
  •  co-ordinating and sourcing all specialist interventions for Children, young people and families.  Assessments include therapy, parenting assessments and education assessments
  •  co-ordinating and sourcing support for children, young people and their families such as day support or overnight short breaks, domiciliary support in the home, supervised family time and welfare checks
  • excellent communication skills are required for this role as the post-holder will need to build good working relationships with service providers and colleagues across Children’s Services and the Council
  • you must be a good team-player and have strong organisational skills and a flexible approach and be keen to support colleagues working in our friendly and busy team

Further Information

This is a full time role at 37 hours per week, fixed term until 30 June 2028.
