About the role

As a Project Officer in Adult Social Care, you will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of projects that contribute to the Council’s wider transformation ambitions. You’ll work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, supporting project managers and service leads to deliver change programmes that improve services for residents and support frontline staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your project management experience while working on meaningful work that delivers real impact.

What’s in it for you

Working in our Adults Delivery Team means your work directly supports services that make a difference every day. You’ll be part of a team focused on improving outcomes, using resources effectively and supporting continuous improvement across Adult Social Care.

In return, we offer:

  • the chance to work on high‑profile transformation and improvement projects within Adult Social Care
  • opportunities to develop your project management, data analysis and stakeholder engagement skills
  • experience of working across a large, complex organisation with a wide range of professional disciplines
  • a supportive, collaborative team environment aligned to our values of Respect, Together, Accountability, Openness and Curiosity
  • the satisfaction of contributing to projects that improve services for residents, partners and staff

What you can expect to be doing

As a Project Officer, you will support the coordination and delivery of projects and programmes within the Adults Delivery portfolio. You will work closely with Project Managers and stakeholders to ensure activity is well‑planned, well‑governed and effectively communicated.

This will include:

  • supporting the development and delivery of projects in line with transformation priorities
  • coordinating project activity, maintaining plans, logs, dashboards and project documentation
  • researching, collating and analysing information to support decision‑making and project delivery
  • preparing reports, presentations and updates for project teams, boards and other governance forums
  • organising and supporting project meetings, workshops and working groups
  • maintaining accurate and secure project information in line with data protection and governance requirements
  • working with colleagues and partners across the Council and wider system to support delivery of shared objectives

About you

You’ll be an organised and proactive individual with experience of working in a project or programme environment. You’ll be confident working with data, producing clear reports and supporting multiple pieces of work at the same time.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  •  Experience of supporting or delivering projects within a complex organisation (ideally within the public sector or Adult Social Care)
  •  Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  •  Experience of researching, analysing information and producing high‑quality reports and documentation
  •  Good knowledge of project management principles and ways of working
  •  Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  •  Confident ICT skills, including experience of tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  •  A flexible, solutions‑focused approach and the ability to work under pressure

A project management qualification (such as PRINCE2) or experience of stakeholder and budget management would be an advantage but is not essential.

Further Information

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.

The interview will be conducted by a small panel , bringing together a balanced mix of skills, experience and perspectives relevant to the role. This approach ensures a fair, consistent and well‑rounded assessment of each candidate, with panel members focusing on different aspects of the role such as technical competence, behaviours, and alignment with organisational values. Candidates will be asked a structured set of questions, with opportunities to provide examples of their experience and demonstrate how they meet the requirements of the post.
