About the role

ROLE: Cover Supervisor or HLTA

SCHOOL: Talbot Primary School

HOURS: Part time- 32.5 hours per week, 8.30am-3.30pm, 39 weeks per year.  Fixed term until 31 August 2026

SALARY: Cover Supervisor- HET Poole Grade D- SCP 5- SCP 6 £25,583- £25,989 FTE (actual salary £19,242-£19,547)

HLTA - HET Poole Grade F- SCP 12- SCP 17 £28,598-£31,021 FTE (actual salary £21,510.17-£23,332)

Salary offered will be dependent on experience and qualifications.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly skilled and inspiring Cover Supervisor or HLTA to cover across the school.  You will be joining a skilled, dedicated and supportive staff team in an exciting school.

Applications from experienced Support Staff with advanced levels of experience to include SEN and good practice in school are encouraged to apply.  Training to support you in your role is offered.

The successful applicant will have:

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent certificates in Childcare and Education, or the commitment to enrol on the NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.
  • HLTA qualification for those applying for the HLTA role
  • Experience of supporting Primary aged children’s learning within the classroom across all age groups.
  • An understanding of children with health care needs.
  • A good understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent
