About the role

Learning Mentor – Part Time

Start Date: March 2026 (or later for the right candidate)

Term: Part Time – 3 or 4 days per week – Term Time Only

Contract Type: Fixed for one year (may be extended)

Salary: £16,000 - £18,000 Full Time Equivalent depending on experience

Closing date: Friday 20^th February 2026 – 5pm

We are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor, with experience of working in education, to join our team from March 2026 (or later for the right candidate).

Duties:

building relationships with children with SEN and SEMH needs
supporting young people with a range of activities and experiences
helping to look after the onsite animals
contributing to children's portfolios using written and photographic evidence
ensuring the safeguarding of our young people

Further Information

We are looking for an applicant who can really relate to, and engage groups of young people aged 8 to 16. Most of all, we are looking for someone who is patient, kind and non-judgemental with a real willingness to support our group of young people.

Corfe Valley Outdoor Learning is a professionally run and well established, outdoor based Alternative Provision in Dorset. Our site, located in the Village of Church Knowle to the south of Wareham, is based on a smallholding set in the peaceful countryside.
