About the role

Part-Time Early Years Teaching Assistant required to start January 2026

Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 1.00pm (22.5 hours) – Term Time Plus Inset Days – 39 Working Weeks

Permanent

Grade 3 – SCP 4 - 6

Full Time Equivalent Salary £25,185 - £25,989 (£13.05 - £13.47 per hour)

Actual salary £13,099 (£25,185 pro rata)

This is an exciting opportunity at Kingsleigh Primary school to join our Early Years setting, to work in our Preschool every morning. Our Early Years outdoor area has recently had an amazing play trail installed and our Early Years leader works across preschool and our reception classes to ensure the children have fantastic progressive learning opportunities.

Further Information

This role will involve:

  • Ø  Working in our Preschool supporting children from age 3 upwards
  • Ø  Initiating individual play or play and interactions between children and their peers
  • Ø  Ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children
  • Ø  Engaging in reading stories, teaching songs, and facilitating crafts
  • Ø  Helping children with personal needs and managing conflicts
  • Ø  Preparing teaching materials, setting up activities and organising classrooms and outdoor areas

We are looking for someone who:

  • Ø  Has a Level 3 Early Years childcare qualification
  • Ø  Has previous experience of working with children in a school or preschool environment
  • Ø  Brings a flexible, adaptable approach and is committed to supporting every pupil
  • Ø  Is active and enthusiastic, full of positive energy
  • Ø  Is passionate about inspiring and engaging learners, with creative ideas to support individual engagement and progress
  • Ø  Is patient and caring
  • Ø  Is eager to grow professionally and embrace development opportunities to meet the needs of every child
  • Ø  Will be proud to be a part of our school and will uphold our ethos and values
  • Ø  Is enthusiastic about working as part of a team at all levels:  year group, phase and school
  • Ø  Always puts children at the heart of everything they do
